Undeniable
Reread via Audiobook April 27, 2014
I totally stand by my original review. I loved this book...the issues I had when listening was same I had when listening. The narrator did a great job..and it was actually scarier when listening almost like watching an episode of Sons of Anarchy. Yes it is dark, yes there is cheating, violence and nasty biker sh*t but I loved every minute of it. I have bought books 2 and 3 on audio and am looking forward to listening!
4-4.5 stars...
First read October 22, 2013
Gitty, dark, horrifying, with cheating, forced sex, and everything a true biker club would give you. I can understand the 1 star ratings for this book. It will appeal to a very select group of readers who can understand that this is a look into the darker side of life. The whole biker lifestyle was given a CR reality check with this novel.
I liked the innocence that MS gave Eva and how as a child raised in the biker lifestyle how she was more excepting of people with that vibe from a young age. If Deuce was attracted to Eva at 5 or 12 then yes the peodofile label might be true but it wasn't until she was 16 that he saw her as a woman. No, he should not have acted on it and yes he was schooled because of it. But this did add to the darkness and grittiness of the story.
The look into the psyche of these people was fascinating. The book drew me in and didn't let go until the ending. I really enjoyed it. That being said I was told by someone that it did have a HEA, I'm not sure I could have read it not knowing that it would somehow work out. This is a great character study and a plot that keeps your attention and grips you. I admit to shedding tears, and getting angry but all that is a sign of a good writer.
I gave the book 4 stars...in some ways it was a 5 star read for me because I really enjoyed it the only reason it wasn't for me is because I felt Eva went from sweet to a spoilt teenage/YA really quickly. I would like to have seen some of the sweet traits that I loved at the beginning of the story to peak thru more in her character at the end. I understand the reference to the chucks was some of that but I would like to have seen it in her speech.
I would recommend this book but you must have a tolerance for a very dark story and be aware there is nothing sweet about this book. Thanks MS for a great read.

When she is shot in a convenience store robbery, Elena finds herself rocketed into supernatural insanity courtesy of a sexy immortal law enforcer. He’s convinced she’s some kind of freaky half-vampire thing and that her deceased dad was the real deal: a blood sucking monster. Yeah, right.
Nikolai Itzov never anticipated battling the urge to kiss the offspring of his father’s murderer. As a Slayer, an elite law enforcer descended from Azrael himself, his orders from the Underveil General are clear: Kill her or die.
Nikolai and Elena find themselves in a life and death battle to stop a plot designed to lift the Underveil and enslave humans. Wrecking Ball
B.N. Toler has given us a different spin on a second chance romance with this heart wrenching story of love, pain and tragedy that leads to a second chance.
I really enjoyed that this story was told from a few different perspectives. Looking back to the past, from both his and her points of view as well as seeing the characters in the now and dealing with betrayal and feelings of lost love. This is very much a "didn't realize what you had until it was gone" novel but not only speaking to love but to self image and sense of self. In so many ways for our heroine it is rediscovering who she was and getting that back with the help of her sister. Our hero was faced with losing everything he held dear and being reminded of how he got it in the first place.
I usually dont' read books that have cheating in it especially between married couples it is one of my hard limits however BN Toler's creative writing and crafting of characters made this book not about cheating but about discovery and that lead to pure enjoyment for me as a reader. It also lead to one of the most emotional reads for me to date this year. This novel was so full of love not only between our main characters but also between sisters. I felt every pain, every laugh, every sorrow as I read through this amazing novel.
I really enjoyed The Healer series by B.N. Toler but I sure hope she graces us with more contemporary romance in the future.
B. N. Toler gifted me this novel for an honest review. Thanks B. N.
4 shining stars for this touching story of what love is all about. I recommend this novel..make it your number one spring read of 2014.

The Will
A new series by Kristen Ashley SQUEE!!!!
I adore Kristen Ashley she is at the top of my favorite author list and I *must* have every book she writes. Luckily, she has never let me down.
Magdalene, Maine is the town this series is based in and the characters that live within are the vehicles of the plot lines. In The Will we meet our hero and heroine at the reading of the heroine's Grandmother's will, the story takes off from there. I won't get into the details of the storyline I'll only say this novel has the "feel" of KA's self published books which are a bit longer and a bit more rambling and over all better reads than the ones that are being published by a big city publisher.
Jake and Josie are both a bit older than most main characters in books today and I for one found that so refreshing. Although I enjoy NA books they seem to have flooded the market with them and it is truly nice to have some maturity and experience in the characters and a heck of a lot less angst. I also enjoyed that Jake had children of varying ages and each had their own unique characteristics, I fell in love with all 3 of them. Josie had some really unusual friends and I will be really interested to see if any of them make their way into future Magdalene books.
I could rave on about fully dimensional characters, great plot with twists etc but for anyone who has read KA they know you get this in every book she writes. The feeling of this book is very much similar to the feeling when I read the 'Burg series. It is all about the individuals and the town that supports them.
I have to admit I started this book in the morning and read it straight through for the most part staying up until 5:30am and when it was over I almost cried because I wanted more! I can't wait to see who is next up in this series. If you haven't had the fortune of reading a Kristen Ashley book you are doing yourself a disservice, to me she is one of the premier writers of Contemporary Romance today and is not to be missed.
5 Brilliant stars for this first outing of a new series, I recommend you get a copy and a glass of wine and sit back an let yourself be consumed by the town of Magdalene.

Move The Sun
Read from April 03 to 04, 2014
Cream of the Crop! MC seem to be one of the latest craze for contemporary romance writers. I'm not complaining I love bikers! These bad boys appeal to the good girl in me:) In the past few months I have read a lot of them and I have to say..this book has risen to the top.
Susan Fanetti is a new to me author and if she crafts all her books with the eye to details like Move the Sun then she is fast moving up my favorite author list.
The characters in this novel are so fully dimensional that you feel absolutely everything they are feeling. Our heroine Lilli is amazing she is so different from most of the "old ladies" in other MC books. Lilli is ex military, kickass, vengeance seeking woman who comes from a background where she should be a broken shell but her strength of character overcomes her tragedies. Just a wonderful female lead! Isaac...first I have to say I loved that he had a name and not a nickname. It was refreshing. Isaac though not as fully dimensional as Lilli still shows different sides to his personality, he is well read, tough, sensible with a hot temper...I mean what is not to love. SF also created reality with the physical appearance of our male characters, they are long haired, long bearded big tough men exactly what you would expect if you ran across them in RL.
The plot is edgy, gritty and has some dark places and is also refreshingly different. Don't expect a Disney story if you are picking up this book...it touches the dark side of life and isn't afraid to look into the shadows. I don't want to say much about the plot because spoilers would ruin it . I just want to say...it was amazing. This book does have an ending of sorts but also has somewhat of a cliffhanger because the story does continue in book 2.
This is a definite 5 star read for me..if I could give it more I would. I loved the book and have delved right into book 2..I guess I should point out that I went and got all 4 books that are released and I'm not regretting it one bit. If you like "real" MC reads you *have* to pick up this novel..and the next:)

Predator's Claim
Read on April 01, 2014
I adore this series, Gemini Island Shifters has a firm place on my favorites shelf. The characters, the steam, the wonderful plots and the humour all makes for a fantastic novel.
In this outing our friend Bart who we have met in previous GIS books finally gets his story. If you have read any of the others in the series we know Bart has been in love with Charlotte for years. In this book he finally catches his wolf.
I consider this a coming of age book in so many ways. Rosanna Leo crafts her characters in a way that you learn about them a little at a time. In this novel all the tidbits we were fed in previous novels come together and our characters finally grow to understand themselves and their motivations. It was wonderful to see Bart grow into the strong alpha we knew he could be...and the alpha we knew Charlotte would need. Charlotte on the other hand had to look to forgive herself and allow herself to love. I adored seeing her stand with Bart against his pack and support him. The Charlotte we knew from Macie's book would never have done that.
RL weaves her plot around the characters allowing them to be the vehicle that drives the story forward. The touches of intrigue and confrontation keeps the readers cheering on the characters. I know I personally wanted to smack Flynn and Fletcher and spank Bart's sister's butt. The twist near the end caught me by surprise and I just love that.
Another blockbuster of a novel for Rosanna Leo and 5 bright shiny stars. I can't wait to see who Rosanna's next victim will be but I suspect it will be from the Lodge's security force.. If you haven't delved into the Gemini Island books..don't wait, treat yourself and pick up the series today.
Note:I was given this book by the author for an honest review
