NEW RELEASE: October 27 and Review: Filthy Rich by Virna DePaul

ON SALE NOW!!!

Virna DePaul is a new to me author and I'm really glad I took the chance and requested this novel with the sexy cover from Netgalley who kindly gave it to me in exchange for an honest review.

Not your typical billionaire romance novel. Virna DePaul grabs the readers attention immediately by giving us early character development so that we can connect to the characters intimately and immediately. The back-stories are so important as the story really does revolve around the feelings both positive and negative that Cara and Branden start to feel for each other.

The plot compels the reader forward with twists and turns and the intense chemistry between the characters fills in the gaps between the drama and intrigue of the high finance arena. I personally loved that VP didn't spend a huge amount of time world building but used that time to develop the characters and chemistry for the reader. There were some loose ends which annoyed me enough to cost a 1/2 star in the rating ....example....mentioned a couple of times that this job was not necessarily what Cara wanted to do..but that was never brought forward after the initial first chapter, the stories of Brandon's relationships with his sisters. The point was made to introduce them....I can only assume that a series will be made of this family and that was the reason for so may sisters and the introduction of them.

This was a 3.5 star for me and Virna DePaul is an "author to watch for" for t'irla's talk...I enjoyed this my first novel by her and will be seeking out other novels....I do love finding new authors!!! Join me in discovering Virna DePaul.

NEW RELEASE TODAY: Taking Connor by B.N. Toler (review to come)

Blurb:

There’s a stereotype for how a convicted felon appears to the public.

Connor Stevens fit that bill.

His reputation preceded him. With a hard body and vivid tattoos dispersed across his flesh, he certainly drew the judgmental eyes of conservative tight-asses. Even I had those same thoughts…regardless of how highly Blake spoke of him.

But those opinions were about to be challenged.

I’d promised to pick Connor up from prison—where he’d served eight years for manslaughter. When Blake passed away, I had every intention of honoring our agreement. Taking Connor home would be my ultimate show of gratitude. Blake never disclosed why Connor killed a man, and I never had the guts to ask. Ever daunted, and against my better judgment, I soon grew to feel close to Connor, in spite of how perverse it was. Still, I vowed to brush off those feelings at all costs.

At least I thought I would. Until all hell broke loose…

Diving head-first, I relished in the time spent in Connor’s damnation. But when he was thrust into hell, it didn’t matter how wrong it was to love him. It was immaterial what he’d done…or why. I came out swinging and clawing, and submerged into the inferno with him, refusing to leave until we both walked out hand in hand. My instinct was to fight.

Connor wouldn’t burn alone.

I would save him.

Or turn to ash right beside him

Review: Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley Book 4 in the Chaos MC Series

Another outstanding read from Kristen Ashley! Thanks to Netgalley for giving me a copy of Walk Through Fire in exchange for an honest review.

No one can write second chance romances like Kristen Ashley, she is the queen of genre, her over 35 hero and heroines are the best! I really can't say enough about her writing skills, she gives me as a reader everything I want in a CR...a bit of angst, suspense, drama, hot steaming sex and characters you can't help but adore...even if you might not like them for a while.

In this fourth instalment of the Chaos MC series we have High's story. High has always been a bit of a mystery...standoffish and set in his ways...not really riding the "Tack" train so to speak..His story is involved and so intense filled with misunderstanding, and trying to do the right thing when it was the wrong thing....As always you get exactly what you expect and need from KA...all done with a fully rounded plot line, characters you want to be friends with and a pace that makes you stay up all night just to finish, then want to cry when it is done cause you want more story.

A 5 star read for me in a book where nightmares really can become fairytales if you hang in there long enough. A don't miss Chaos read.....I'm ready for the next one Kit! Make this Halloween a Chaos Halloween!

NEW RELEASE and Review! Shifter Planet by D.B. Reynolds Book 1 in the Shifter Planet Series

Amazing new series from a favourite author! In my top 5 reads of the year!

I am a huge D.B. Reynolds fan, her Vampires in America series is one of my all time favourites so when I saw she had a new series I hopped on Netgalley and requested an ARC and lucky me I was given one in exchange for an honest review. I will happily go out and buy this novel when it goes on sale October 26..yes it was that good!

I"m always looking for the unique, as an avid reader of PNR I do find that story lines can get repetitive or that the books all start to blend in my mind. Not with Shifter Planet. This is a totally new and unique take on the shifter sub genre of PNR...with a bit of a futuristic twist...I wouldn't say sci fi...it only happens to take place in a world in space. This story has a fresh yet raw, grittiness to it..there are truly dark moments yet with such wonderful characters the eye is always on the HEA prize. In this the first book of the series DBR took the time to build a wonderfully different world where shifters are the protectorate...strong, alpha, indomitable and caring. The characters are both strong and well matched...the conflicts so tough that there is a real suspense, action vibe to the novel. The main male Rhodry the alpha of our story is strong yet there is a vulnerability to him that DBR excels at...and like with ViA her strong female lead kicks complete ass.

This novel is my top 5 books read so far this year and I can't wait to dig into more in this series we have so much more to learn about Harp and the people who inhabit it....If I could give the book more than 5 stars I would ...what I can give it is a t'irla high recommendation and a push to make this your first purchase on OCTOBER 26....a must read! .

Review: Everything I Left Unsaid by Molly O'Keefe Book One in Everything I Left Unsaid Series

5**** DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!  IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE THIS YEAR..THIS IS THE BOOK TO READ!!

Saw this posted on Negalley and not sure why but something spoke to me and I had to request it ...Thank You Netgalley for giving me one of my best reads this year in exchange for an honest review.

Molly O'Keefe is a new to me author and I'm not sure why it took me so long to find her. Her writing is incredible, her use of words to paint a picture is a work of art. This novel was so beautifully written that I am forgiving her the cliffhanger (which I hate with no warning)...I loved loved loved this book. From page one this book captured my attention and never let go...I was completely engrossed, the words and story swept me away from my reality and had me living with Annie and Dylan. I was completely invested in their story and what was happening in the trailer park. I found as I peeled away layers of the story there were more layers revealed. The novel was suspense filled, creative, unique and incredibly HAWT!!!! I mean more than steam! it was scorching ...

I admit when I got to the end and found it a cliffhanger I was devastated...I needed to read more..I was tempted to go show up on her doorstep and demand the next novel....lucky for me it is due out in November so I don't have to wait a year or whatever but I still am haunted by this novel and I need to know what happens with Dylan and Annie...and what is going on at the trailer park...I can't remember the last time a book grabbed me so completely....5 huge stars for this outstanding novel...and a new favourite author!!!.....but please Molly O'Keefe...no more cliffys!! I can't handle them:)
