Amazing introduction for new author Nulli Para Ora. Dragon Moon is everything a lover of romance could want in a unique PNR novel! A MUST read.
Description:
A business trip to China. A fight for their lives. Will Angelique and David become pawns in a werewolf war or does fate have something else in store?
David Johnson and Angelique Meadows are colleagues on a business trip to China. They’ve worked together for years, but neither has been able to admit their true feelings for the other. This business trip represents a landmark deal in their careers and an opportunity to reveal the truth of their hearts. Just as love blooms, disaster strikes.
The man they’re meeting with is Yuen Gao, CEO of a multi-million dollar company. The world sees him as a successful businessman. His pack sees him as their Alpha. Rogues, secret experiments, and the undeniable pull of his mate force him to reveal his secret. Is his love strong enough to overcome the pain of loss?
Hearts unite and break as trusted friends become enemies behind the scenes. Love longed for is lost to be replaced by a bond deeper than words. Loyalties are tested as ghosts of the past step into the present.
Can true love survive when forbidden hearts are reconnected?
My Thoughts:
Wow, talk about something different in PNR, I absolutely loved this novel. Nulli Para Ora breathes a breath of fresh air into romantic paranormal suspense. Although interracial couple are not unheard of in PNR it is highly unusual to have Asian/Black/White all in the same book as a love triangle. For me this was my first experience with a Chinese male protagonist and I hope that it is not my last Gao was unbelievably romantic, sensitive and all alpha. David was more aggressive even before the change and still a wonderful alpha. Angelique was everything you could want in a heroine, smart, focused, sensitive and kick-ass. The story NPO weaves was exciting enough to keep me up until 5:30 am this morning reading. I had to find out what happened. The book kept me on the edge of my seat..er.. bed, it was fast paced, and the plot deftly wound around the supporting characters to make them as integral to the story as the main characters. The fact that these characters are fully dimensional makes them easy for the reader to identify with and empathize. This complex story introduced a plot twist right at the end, not a cliff hanger but an "uh oh now what" moment. Overall this is an exciting start to a new series and I for one can't wait for book 2. Ora is a new name in romantic paranormal and I know this novel will springboard her onto everyone's favorite shelf. She is definitely on mine!
4.5 solid gold stars for Dragon Moon and a new fangirl in me. Do yourself a favor read this book now and treat yourself to a taste of Gao/David and Angelique.
