NEW RELEASE: October 27 and Review: Filthy Rich by Virna DePaul

Virna DePaul is a new to me author and I'm really glad I took the chance and requested this novel with the sexy cover from Netgalley who kindly gave it to me in exchange for an honest review.

Not your typical billionaire romance novel. Virna DePaul grabs the readers attention immediately by giving us early character development so that we can connect to the characters intimately and immediately. The back-stories are so important as the story really does revolve around the feelings both positive and negative that Cara and Branden start to feel for each other.

The plot compels the reader forward with twists and turns and the intense chemistry between the characters fills in the gaps between the drama and intrigue of the high finance arena. I personally loved that VP didn't spend a huge amount of time world building but used that time to develop the characters and chemistry for the reader. There were some loose ends which annoyed me enough to cost a 1/2 star in the rating ....example....mentioned a couple of times that this job was not necessarily what Cara wanted to do..but that was never brought forward after the initial first chapter, the stories of Brandon's relationships with his sisters. The point was made to introduce them....I can only assume that a series will be made of this family and that was the reason for so may sisters and the introduction of them.

This was a 3.5 star for me and Virna DePaul is an "author to watch for" for t'irla's talk...I enjoyed this my first novel by her and will be seeking out other novels....I do love finding new authors!!! Join me in discovering Virna DePaul.

NEW RELEASE TODAY: Taking Connor by B.N. Toler (review to come)

There’s a stereotype for how a convicted felon appears to the public.

Connor Stevens fit that bill.

His reputation preceded him. With a hard body and vivid tattoos dispersed across his flesh, he certainly drew the judgmental eyes of conservative tight-asses. Even I had those same thoughts…regardless of how highly Blake spoke of him.

But those opinions were about to be challenged.

I’d promised to pick Connor up from prison—where he’d served eight years for manslaughter. When Blake passed away, I had every intention of honoring our agreement. Taking Connor home would be my ultimate show of gratitude. Blake never disclosed why Connor killed a man, and I never had the guts to ask. Ever daunted, and against my better judgment, I soon grew to feel close to Connor, in spite of how perverse it was. Still, I vowed to brush off those feelings at all costs.

At least I thought I would. Until all hell broke loose…

Diving head-first, I relished in the time spent in Connor’s damnation. But when he was thrust into hell, it didn’t matter how wrong it was to love him. It was immaterial what he’d done…or why. I came out swinging and clawing, and submerged into the inferno with him, refusing to leave until we both walked out hand in hand. My instinct was to fight.

Connor wouldn’t burn alone.

I would save him.

Or turn to ash right beside him

Review: Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley Book 4 in the Chaos MC Series

Another outstanding read from Kristen Ashley! Thanks to Netgalley for giving me a copy of Walk Through Fire in exchange for an honest review.

No one can write second chance romances like Kristen Ashley, she is the queen of genre, her over 35 hero and heroines are the best! I really can't say enough about her writing skills, she gives me as a reader everything I want in a CR...a bit of angst, suspense, drama, hot steaming sex and characters you can't help but adore...even if you might not like them for a while.

In this fourth instalment of the Chaos MC series we have High's story. High has always been a bit of a mystery...standoffish and set in his ways...not really riding the "Tack" train so to speak..His story is involved and so intense filled with misunderstanding, and trying to do the right thing when it was the wrong thing....As always you get exactly what you expect and need from KA...all done with a fully rounded plot line, characters you want to be friends with and a pace that makes you stay up all night just to finish, then want to cry when it is done cause you want more story.

A 5 star read for me in a book where nightmares really can become fairytales if you hang in there long enough. A don't miss Chaos read.....I'm ready for the next one Kit! Make this Halloween a Chaos Halloween!

NEW RELEASE and Review! Shifter Planet by D.B. Reynolds Book 1 in the Shifter Planet Series

Amazing new series from a favourite author! In my top 5 reads of the year!

I am a huge D.B. Reynolds fan, her Vampires in America series is one of my all time favourites so when I saw she had a new series I hopped on Netgalley and requested an ARC and lucky me I was given one in exchange for an honest review. I will happily go out and buy this novel when it goes on sale October 26..yes it was that good!

I"m always looking for the unique, as an avid reader of PNR I do find that story lines can get repetitive or that the books all start to blend in my mind. Not with Shifter Planet. This is a totally new and unique take on the shifter sub genre of PNR...with a bit of a futuristic twist...I wouldn't say sci fi...it only happens to take place in a world in space. This story has a fresh yet raw, grittiness to it..there are truly dark moments yet with such wonderful characters the eye is always on the HEA prize. In this the first book of the series DBR took the time to build a wonderfully different world where shifters are the protectorate...strong, alpha, indomitable and caring. The characters are both strong and well matched...the conflicts so tough that there is a real suspense, action vibe to the novel. The main male Rhodry the alpha of our story is strong yet there is a vulnerability to him that DBR excels at...and like with ViA her strong female lead kicks complete ass.

This novel is my top 5 books read so far this year and I can't wait to dig into more in this series we have so much more to learn about Harp and the people who inhabit it....If I could give the book more than 5 stars I would ...what I can give it is a t'irla high recommendation and a push to make this your first purchase on OCTOBER 26....a must read! .

Review: Everything I Left Unsaid by Molly O'Keefe Book One in Everything I Left Unsaid Series

Saw this posted on Negalley and not sure why but something spoke to me and I had to request it ...Thank You Netgalley for giving me one of my best reads this year in exchange for an honest review.

Molly O'Keefe is a new to me author and I'm not sure why it took me so long to find her. Her writing is incredible, her use of words to paint a picture is a work of art. This novel was so beautifully written that I am forgiving her the cliffhanger (which I hate with no warning)...I loved loved loved this book. From page one this book captured my attention and never let go...I was completely engrossed, the words and story swept me away from my reality and had me living with Annie and Dylan. I was completely invested in their story and what was happening in the trailer park. I found as I peeled away layers of the story there were more layers revealed. The novel was suspense filled, creative, unique and incredibly HAWT!!!! I mean more than steam! it was scorching ...

I admit when I got to the end and found it a cliffhanger I was devastated...I needed to read more..I was tempted to go show up on her doorstep and demand the next novel....lucky for me it is due out in November so I don't have to wait a year or whatever but I still am haunted by this novel and I need to know what happens with Dylan and Annie...and what is going on at the trailer park...I can't remember the last time a book grabbed me so completely....5 huge stars for this outstanding novel...and a new favourite author!!!.....but please Molly O'Keefe...no more cliffys!! I can't handle them:)

“Club Sin is no longer safe.”

Six words Dmitri Pratt had never imagined saying rushed from his mouth, and having said them out loud made them real. Sitting behind the cherry-wood desk in his home office, Dmitri faced the men he’d appointed to oversee his exclusive BDSM dungeon, Club Sin.

Nestled by the bay window in the corner of the room, Club Sin Masters Kyler Morgan and Aidan McKnight sat on the black leather couch, frowns creasing their brows. Next to them on the wing-back chairs, the other Club Sin Masters, Miles Sanchez and Porter Marshall, stared straight ahead in evident confusion.

Gutted by the realization of what lay before him, Dmitri shifted his focus to the Club Sin submissive standing near the doorway, awaiting his direction.

 “Please explain our situation, Sarah.”

Sarah’s head was bowed. Her long black hair curtained her face, yet it couldn’t shield the quick intake of breath passing through her cherry-red lips.

“I'm not sure if you all know this, but I work for Gotcha!”

Porter, a private investigator—who was physically suited for his job, being tall and solidly built—asked, “The tabloid?”

“Yep, that one.” Sarah’s head lifted, and she gazed at the men through her thick lashes, revealing shy brown eyes. “Earlier tonight my boss delivered an envelope of pictures to my house.”

Dmitri tightened his fists on his desk, preparing himself.

Sarah continued, “The pictures show some of the Club Sin members. Their names are on the photos.”

The police officer, Kyler, shot to his feet. His light brown hair was dishevelled from his sudden movement, and his fists were clenched at his sides. “Someone has been talking pictures of us . . . here?”

Sarah shifted on her feet, giving a quick nod. “I've asked my boss for a few days to investigate the pictures. I thought that might buy you some time.”

“That was smart of you, Sarah,” said Aidan, a defense attorney and the most serious of the men.
Dmitri noted Sarah’s small smile at the compliment before she added, “You have to act fast to find the leak. I've got a week to investigate before she prints the story.”

Dmitri considered suing the tabloid. They could intervene before the story broke. The photographer could be resentful, though, and simply post the photos on the Internet. Frustrated by the thought, he scanned the faces of his close friends, knowing the decision also belonged to them. “Thank you for relaying what you've learned, Sarah. I’d ask that you excuse yourself now.” She turned to exit the room. Before she left, Dmitri added, “Please keep this information to yourself until I can talk to the members.”

“I understand.” She shut the door behind her.

Silence remained in her absence.

Sarah had told him about the pictures a half hour ago, and Dmitri had yet to accept it. Conflicted by his personal feelings and his responsibility to Club Sin members, he examined the twelve pictures on his desk. The faces staring back were of himself and his submissive, Presley, plus the Club Sin Masters and their submissives, along with the lone bachelor, Miles.

The only Master not pictured was Sawyer Quinn, which told Dmitri that the pictures had been taken sometime in the last year. Sawyer had left behind Club Sin and the BDSM lifestyle before marrying Chloe Nash five months ago. A frown pulled on Dmitri’s mouth as he also noted images of a well-known heart surgeon who was a Dominant and a couple of submissives who had high-powered jobs.

While the pictures didn’t show anyone inside the dungeon, all of them showed women in a vulnerable moment, with wind catching coats or skirts and revealing a garter belt or lacy panties beneath. Dmitri didn’t doubt that someone had spent a lot of time staking out his house, waiting for the perfect moment to capture the damning pictures.

Aidan rose from his place on the couch and approached Dmitri’s desk. Brows drawn together over his gray eyes, he picked up a picture of himself and his wife. In bold writing it was captioned Aidan and Cora McKnight. “What the fuck is this?” he growled.

“Believe me, I wish I knew.” Dmitri gripped the arms of his chair, staying put as the other Masters positioned themselves around Aidan to see the pictures. Waves of anger ignited in the room, making the air thick.

Porter’s hazel eyes blazed when he saw the photo of his wife, Kenzie. “Does Sarah have any suspicions of who’s behind this?”

Dmitri shook his head. “Her boss is keeping the person’s identity a secret.”

Miles grabbed one of the photos. “Is Sarah in any of these pictures?”

“No.” Dmitri understood the implication. “But she brought the information forward. I doubt she’s involved.” He drew in a long breath, settling his rage, not wanting to accuse anyone who didn't deserve it. “In fact, I can’t imagine anyone in Club Sin doing this to the members.”

Nods followed.

Porter cursed at the photo in his hand and then dropped it on the desk. “What about enemies? Anyone piss off someone lately?”

Of course the private investigator went straight to the motive of vengeance, Dmitri thought. As Dmitri watched each Master shake his head, even he couldn't come up with a suspect. “The casino brings some heated conversations with my competitors”—that went hand in hand with being the president of one of Vegas’s top casinos—“but that said, I don’t imagine anyone would feel threatened enough by me to do this.”

Aidan brushed a hand across the stubble on his jaw and nodded in agreement. “I can make enemies in my line of work. But nothing that warrants this defamation.”

Kyler crumpled the picture of himself and his wife, Ella, before tossing it in the garbage can. “We all piss off someone in some way every day.” His lips thinned. “Christ, this could ruin us all.”

Review: Mine by Stacey Kennedy Book 7 and the final book of the Club Sin Series

In a series with started with "Claimed" the story of Dmitri and Presley it seems fitting that it also ends with this dynamic couple. Yes, this is the conclusion to the Club Sin series. We have read 7 books now and "Mine" has done a fantastic job of tying all the loose ends together giving us a very satisfactory finale. We also get to meet the main characters of Stacey Kennedy's new spin off series "Dungeon's Key". Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC early in exchange for an honest review.

Mine is a novella that takes up the story 2 years after "Claimed" Presley and Dmitri have become a loving BDSM couple but in "Mine" this connection is challenged when Presley's past rears up and threatens Club Sin. Dmitri in a typical male bonehead move focuses on fixing what broke instead of communicating with Presley and put the relationship in jeopardy. We get fantastic looks at the couples in the 5 books and see where they are in their relationships. We also find out where the balance of Club Sin's Masters will be spending the future.

I totally enjoyed this novella I"m so happy that SK took all the loose ends of the entire series plots and subplots and tied them up nicely. There is closure for the reader which allows us to look forward the new series that will be coming up in the future. I loved seeing Stacey Kennedy's writing mature and get more polished as the series continued, she got so much better at building the characters and making them easy for the reader to relate to and care about. Her Dom's were all good stern alphas that made the reader wiggle in her chair when the steam started to hit boiling point.

A great ending to a great series that I totally recommend to all of you who love Cherise Sinclair and would like that same feeling of characters and relationships being the main focus and BDSM just a vehicle in the relationships. A bright shiny 4 stars for MINE and a *must* read for Fall of 2015. Thanks for the hours of steamy reading Stacey Kennedy can't wait to see what you will get upto next!

RELEASED TODAY!! Review and Recommendation: Sinner's Steel by Sarah Castille Book 3 in Sinner's Tribe Motorcycle Club

Sinner's Steel gives us everything we want in a MC novel! Dirt, grit, Dark, sex, more sex, edge, alpha bikers and tons of action and suspense. Sarah Castille does it again in her hit series, Sinner's Tribe Motorcycle Club.

Must like the former two novels in this series if you are shy about darkness with grit and edge in your MC novels this may not be the one for you but if you are like me and want that realism and want to see our heroes and heroines come out of the darkness to find some light in a HEA then this definitely will be a read for you.

Zane aka "Tracker" we have met in the previous novels but he is very much in the shadows of the club, his character is very much an enforcer and involved in the violence and least pleasant aspects of the life. What makes this really interesting is that our heroine Evie met Zane when they were very young...even then there was a darkness around Zane but the connection was there. I'm not sure if you would call this a second chance novel because they never really had their first chance. I think of it more as a "what could have been" novel.

There is a very involved back story in the relationship between the two and the reconnect is full of surprises but in order not to spill any details I will not go into specifics...you really do need to experience the story as I did with no idea what is going to happen. I will point out that Evie did annoy me at first but she does seem to be confused and a bit too innocent for words. Her co worker I just wanted to smack around and give her a good dose of reality...it is like she thinks bikers are Disneyland characters...grrr....

I do admire Sarah Castile for giving Evie a very controversial possible love interest and riding that connection to where it went. It will be very interesting to see how he impacts future novels. SC writes these novels as a standalone but to get the most enjoyment from the book I would really recommend you start with book 1 and read the series. There are reoccurring characters and will help you understand why they behave in certain ways and will let you be much invested in the MC and what happens to them. There is wonderfully dirty and sexy talk and the sex in the novel is major HAWT! there is also major violence so if that is not your thing...better give this one a miss.

I'm a 4.5 star lover of this novel and a recommendation of not only this novel but this series. Looking for a well written edgy, dark MC romance look no further...The Sinner's Tribe MC is waiting for you!!!

*Thanks to Netgally and the publisher for giving me this novel for an honest review*
